About the Designer
Around the time she learned to walk, Rebecca learned to sew. A life-long love was kindled back then, and later was nurtured further at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she studied fashion design and tailoring. Rebecca’s nearly decade long career in the garment industry has included time working for contemporary labels such as Yoana Baraschi and How&Wen (owned by Wen Zhou, now partner of 3.1Philip Lim), as well as several years of working for her own company which launched Schone Maternity- a contemporary collection of maternity clothes that was sold in Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus among others, and was hailed by Oprah and numerous industry insiders as a top maternity brand.
In both design and life, Rebecca believes that balance is key. Her designs meditate on quality textiles, construction, fit, color, and proportion. Unimpressed by clothes that force a woman into a certain mold, the pieces she creates are formed with a woman's natural beauty and movements in mind.
Rebecca lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, Brandon, their two kitties, Cooper and Goose, and their baby boy Caleb who was welcomed into this world on March 15th, 2011!
